About

Meet Dr. Alex.

Dr. Alexandra Swenson-Ridley, DC, MSPP, NBC-HWC — Fairbanks family wellness chiropractor.

My Story

I was that kid.

The diagnoses stacked up early. The illnesses didn't stop. I spent a childhood being told I'd outgrow it — that the asthma, the allergies, the constant sickness were just part of who I was.

I didn't outgrow any of it. What changed was that I found chiropractic care, and for the first time, my body started working the way it was supposed to. The asthma quieted. The allergies faded. I went from the sick kid to running marathons.

That experience became my conviction: a child's body is not broken. It is waiting for the right support.

Why Kids

Every week I see what's possible.

When I was twelve, I watched a child in my chiropractor's office get adjusted. I didn't understand the science yet, but I understood the look on the parent's face — relief, and hope, and the dawning that maybe they weren't alone.

That's the moment I think about now, with every family who walks through my door. The parents I see aren't lost — they're stranded. They know something is off. They just need someone who can see the whole picture.

Care that starts with the nervous system.

Chiropractic

Gentle, specific adjustments that restore motion and communication in the nervous system — from a newborn's first breath to a grandparent's stride.

HeartMath

Breath and focus techniques backed by 30 years of research, teaching the nervous system to shift out of stress and into regulation.

Coaching

One-on-one emotional well-being support that helps the whole family build resilience — not by managing symptoms, but by changing the baseline.

"A child doesn't heal in isolation."

Beyond the Office

More than a practice.

You'll often meet Tiko — the practice Maltipoo and unofficial nervous-system regulator for kids who need a soft landing. He's part of the room.

Outside of the office, I coach the Eclipse Soccer U11/12 Girls soccer team and spend as much time as I can playing outside. Regulation isn't something I just teach — it's something I live.
